The WA Government has announced the appointment of three new members to the board of Aqwest – Bunbury Water.
David Dorsett-Lynn has been appointed chairperson, with Kate Baker and Tim Partridge appointed as board directors, each for a three-year term.
“Their combined expertise and fresh perspectives will strengthen governance and support Aqwest to continue delivering reliable, high-quality drinking water to the Bunbury community,” said Water Minister, Don Punch.
“I also acknowledge the significant contribution of outgoing chairperson Stan Liaros, whose leadership has provided strong strategic direction over many years, and Patricia Scaffidi for her valued service as a board director and chair of the Audit and Risk Committee.”
Mr Dorsett-Lynn is a business leader with extensive governance and leadership experience, Mrs Baker brings engineering and infrastructure expertise, and Mr Partridge provides strong financial and audit capability, the Minister said.
The appointments come as terms of current long-serving board directors Stan Liaros and Patricia Scaffidi conclude on 31 May, following many years of service to Aqwest and the Bunbury community.
As chairperson, Mr Liaros provided steady leadership and strategic direction through a period of change in the water sector. His contribution has helped position Aqwest to meet the challenges of a drying climate, increasing demand and evolving community expectations, said Minister Punch.
Mrs Scaffidi chaired the Audit and Risk Committee and made a significant contribution through her financial expertise and governance leadership, he said.
