Modular classrooms boost for Victorian schools

Victorian Deputy Premier and Minister for Education, Ben Carroll, has announced four new state-of-the-art modular modular buildings will be delivered to schools across Victorian later this year.

Donnybrook Primary School, Warreen Primary School and Horseshoe Bend Primary School will each receive one modular building, providing an additional 100 enrolment places at each school. Staughton College will also receive one modular building, providing an additional 75 places to meet increasing demand.

The Minister said the modular buildings incorporate the latest innovations to provide teachers and students with modern learning environments.

“These new classrooms will provide schools with a fast, flexible and state-of-the-art space to keep up with the growing needs of local schools,” said Mr Carroll.

“Providing Victorian students with first-class education must start with first-class facilities and resources, which is why we’re always monitoring what additions our schools need to make this happen.”

The modular buildings include double-glazed windows and improved insulation to reduce heat loss, special wall and ceiling linings to reduce internal noise reverberation, energy efficient design and external window shades.

Each have a flexible layout making them easy to adapt for different teaching and learning needs, while offering extra space to help meet increasing demand.

For the 2025 school year, the Government has invested $152.4 million to deliver additional classrooms in areas of need. The program will fund the construction and delivery of 166 newly manufactured buildings to address enrolment growth.
