Man shot by Queensland Police in Logan

A man has been shot by Queensland Police following an incident at Woodhill in the Logan City local government area last night.

In a statement, Queensland Police said officers were initially called to Caswell Road at around 9pm in relation for a welfare check, when they were allegedly confronted by a 41-year-old Woodhill man armed with a firearm.

“The man allegedly advanced on police, and he was subsequently shot by officers,” Queensland Police said.

“Officers immediately provided first aid at the scene before the man, aged in his 40s, was airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.

“No police officers or members of the public were injured during the incident.”

A crime scene was declared, and there is no ongoing risk to public safety, Queensland Police said.

The matter is being investigated by the Ethical Standards Command, with oversight from the Crime and Corruption Commission.
