A man has been charged following the Police shooting of a man in an incident at Woodhill in the Logan City area on Friday night.
In a statement, Queensland Police said officers were initially called to Caswell Road at around 9pm in relation for a welfare check, when they were allegedly confronted by a 41-year-old Woodhill man armed with a firearm.
“The man allegedly advanced on police, and he was subsequently shot by officers,” Queensland Police said.
“Officers immediately provided first aid at the scene before the man, aged in his 40s, was airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
“No police officers or members of the public were injured during the incident.”
The man has since been charged with two counts of serious assault of a police officer whilst armed with a weapon, and one count each of unlawful possession of weapon category A and contravention of a police protection direction.
He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on 29 June.
The shooting is being investigated by the Ethical Standards Command, with oversight from the Crime and Corruption Commission.
