A 26-year-old man has been charged after a Victoria Police officer was allegedly assaulted in Ringwood last night.
In a statement, Victoria Police said officers responded to reports of a man seen running through traffic and allegedly assaulting passersby in a carpark on Bond Street at around 8pm on Wednesday.
“Police arrived swiftly and arrested a man before he allegedly spat on one of the officers,” Police said.
A 26-year-old Ringwood man was charged with assault. He was bailed to appear before Ringwood Magistrates’ Court on 12 May.
