A 37-year-old man has been charged after allegedly breaking a window at Parliament House earlier today.
In a statement, NSW Police said officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command were called to Macquarie Street, Sydney, after a person entered the State Parliament’s main forecourt at around 2.40am and smashed a window with a metal barbell.
“A crime scene was established and inquiries commenced,” NSW Police said.
“Shortly after 5am, a 37-year-old man was arrested at a home in Oldfield Street, Greystanes.”
He was taken to Granville Police Station, where he has been charged with destroy or damage property and enter inclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse.
He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today.
