A 23-year-old man has been arrested after two police officers were allegedly assaulted in Alice Springs on Sunday.
In a statement, Northern Territory Police said that at around 8:30am yesterday, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre “received report of a mental health incident and upon arrival at an address in Alice Springs they arrested a male found to be in breach of a DVO”.
“During the arrest, the male allegedly assaulted two officers before being taken to the Watch House.”
The officers were treated at Alice Springs Hospital for injuries and have been discharged.
