Man charged over alleged assault of Sydney Trains officer

A man will appear in court today charged over the alleged sexual touching of a female Sydney Trains Transport officer in Sydney’s west.

Police say that at around 1pm on Saturday, the 26-year-old transport officer was working at Parramatta Railway Station, when she was approached by a man who allegedly sexually touched her and made remarks of a sexual nature.

“She moved away from the man who approached her a second time and made further sexual based remarks,” NSW Police said in a statement.

“Officers attached to Police Transport Command North West were patrolling the station a short time later and were notified and commenced an investigation into the incident.”

Police arrested a 35-year-old man at a home on Graham Street, Doonside, about 4.40pm yesterday.

He was taken to Blacktown Police Station where he was charged with sexually touch another person without consent and common assault.

The man was refused bail to appear at Blacktown Local Court today.
