Man and teen charged with assaulting police

A teenage boy and a man have faced court charged after being charged with hindering and assaulting police in Sydney’s south west.

In a statement, NSW Police said that at around 5pm on Monday, emergency services were called to a home on Pearce Street, Liverpool, following reports a family had returned home to find a relative unresponsive.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attempted to treat a 60-year-old man, however he died at the scene.

“Several people allegedly attempted to interfere with the work of emergency services,” said NSW Police.

“As officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command attempted to control crowds and establish a crime scene, it is alleged three police officers were assaulted.”

The officers were treated at the scene by paramedics for minor injuries.

The Public Order and Riot Squad, South West Metropolitan OSG, Operation Odin and Highway Patrol officers assisted before a 16-year-old boy and a 27-year-old were arrested and taken to Liverpool Police Station.

The boy was charged with Assault police, Intimidate police and resist police in execution of duty. He was refused bail to appear before a Childrens Court today.

The man was charged with two counts of Assault police, Intimidate police and resist police in execution of duty. He was refused bail to appear before Liverpool Local Court today.
