A man has been charged over alleged domestic violence and assault police offences in the state’s central western plains region.
Officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District were called to a home on Munnell Street, Gulargambone, at around 3.45am on Sunday following reports of an assault.
“Police arrived and were told a 39-year-old man had allegedly assaulted another man – who is known to him,” NSW Police said in a statement.
“Police arrested the 39-year-old man, during which he allegedly struck an officer in the face.”
The officer was taken to Dubbo Hospital for further examination, and was later discharged.
The 39-year-old man was taken to Dubbo Police Station where he was charged with assault police officer in execution of duty cause actual bodily harm, common assault (DV) and knowingly contravene prohibition/etc in AVO (Domestic).
He was refused bail and is due to appear before Coonamble Local Court on Wednesday 15 July.
