Finalists named for WA nursing and midwifery awards

The finalists for the 2026 Western Australia Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards have been announced, with 41 nurses and midwives, along with three nursing and midwifery teams, named across 14 award categories.

The awards acknowledge excellence across a range of specialties and practice settings, with finalists drawn from public, private and non-government organisations throughout Western Australia.

“Western Australia’s nurses and midwives play a vital role in caring for our communities and supporting patients and families through some of life’s most significant moments,” said Health Minister, Meredith Hammat.

“Being recognised as a finalist is a significant achievement and reflects the exceptional standard of care being delivered across Western Australia.

“Our midwives and nurses are delivering professional, compassionate and effective care across our hospitals, clinics and communities.

“I want to thank every nurse and midwife for the essential care they provide each day and for their ongoing commitment to improving health outcomes for Western Australians.”

Category winners, along with the 2026 WA Nurse or Midwife of the Year and the recipient of the 2026 Lifetime Achievement Honour, will be announced at the WA Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards Gala Ball on Saturday 9 May 2026.
