EOI opens for Carseldine intersection upgrade

Expressions of Interest are open for the upgrade of the Gympie Arterial Road and Beams Road intersection at Carseldine, the Queensland Government has today announced.

Minister for Transport and Main Roads, Brent Mickelberg said opening Expressions of Interest demonstrated the Government’s commitment to delivering outcomes.

“The Crisafulli Government is doing what we said we would by getting on with the job of delivering a road network to reflect the region’s growth and that Queenslanders deserve, moving this project toward construction,” Minister Mickelberg said.

“Opening the EOI for this Carseldine intersection sends a clear signal our government is committed to delivering congestion-busting infrastructure that backs the needs of real Queenslanders for a better lifestyle and stronger economy, just like we promised at the election.

“Despite this congested intersection sitting squarely in his own backyard, the former Transport Minister turned a blind eye to the need to upgrade Beams Road ignoring his community, commuters, and industry as they sat stranded in traffic in and around Brisbane’s north.”

Fully funded under the Queensland Government’s Safer Roads, Better Transport Initiative, the project’s EOI will be combined into a single construction contract with the duplication of the Linkfield Road Overpass, the Minister said.
