DevelopmentWA is seeking an experienced market operator to manage the popular Manning Road Farmers Market, part of the Bentley Redevelopment Area.
Since opening at Hedley Park in Bentley in late 2024, the market has become a cornerstone of Bentley’s local identity and community life, attracting more than 3,500 visitors and around 80 stallholders each Saturday morning.
The call for a new operator forms part of DevelopmentWA’s broader commitment to ensuring the long-term success of the market and the activation of the Bentley Redevelopment Project – a major 30-hectare urban renewal initiative that will deliver 800 to 1,000 new homes, along with new parks, amenities, and increased tree canopy.

The successful proponent will enter into a five-year Access Licence Agreement and be responsible for all aspects of market management, from operations and vendor engagement to community outreach and sustainability practices.
“Farmers markets are a brilliant way to bring the community together, and the Manning Road Farmers Market has become one of the biggest and most successful we’ve ever seen in Western Australia,” said Planning and Lands Minister, John Carey.
“This is a great opportunity for a skilled and experienced operator to take the farmers market forward and build on its strong reputation within the community.”
Submissions close at 2pm Australian Western Standard Time on Wednesday, 30 April.
