WA Police has announced additional resources for the Pilbara region, with the commencement of a detectives office based in Newman.
It says Newman Detectives will be responsible for issues in the town and surrounding areas, bringing more capabilities and an added police experience into the district.
The office began instigation this month, headlined with a group of detectives that have an extensive range of experiences in the Western Australia Police Force.
Superintendent Gailene Hamilton believes the new office will benefit the public in the widespread area.
“Newman Detectives is now one of several resources in the Pilbara that will devote their time and effort to keep people safe in the community,” she said.
“Members of the public, no matter if it’s their home, or if they’re tourists coming to visit the region, have a right to feel secure. The added resource and assumed responsibility will aim to uphold those core values in the town and surrounding areas.”
