Work to deliver the new Warrawong Community Health Centre, part of the $780 million New Shellharbour Hospital and Integrated Services Project is on track with the main works contractor appointed by the NSW Government today.
The Government has engaged Stephen Edwards Constructions following a competitive tender process to build the new community health centre.
“I’m delighted we have reached this significant milestone for the new Warrawong Community Health Centre,” said Regional Health Minister, Ryan Park.
“It is terrific to see this project moving to the next phase, bringing the community one step closer to receiving important community-based health services within a new, purpose-built facility.
“Having services including child and family health, Aboriginal maternal infant health services and drug and alcohol services all under the one roof will enhance accessibility and support the health needs of the local community.”
The new Warrawong Community Health Centre will provide:
- Child and family health services
- Binji and Boori (Aboriginal Maternal Infant Health Service)
- Community nursing
- Community mental health
- Sexual health service
- Drug and alcohol services
- Equipment loan pool
With the contract awarded, next steps involve finalising the design of the new Centre before construction commences in the coming months.
The new Warrawong Community Health Centre will be located on the Port Kembla Hospital site.
Construction of the community health centre is expected to be completed in 2026.
