The WA Government has launched the Collie Job Connect app and website to support Collie’s workforce transition and help local workers find work close to home.
The platform will connect job seekers, including workers impacted by industry change, with local employers through a simple and accessible digital service, with support also provided by the Collie Jobs and Skills Centre.
It provides a central hub for employment and training information, enabling users to search for jobs, create résumés, receive tailored job alerts and explore career pathways linked to Collie’s evolving industries, said Skills and TAFE Minister, Amber-Jade Sanderson.
More than 40 local jobs across a number of different sectors, including industry, government, care and hospitality, are already listed.
“Collie Job Connect will make it easier for local workers to find local jobs and build new careers as the town’s economy evolves,” said Minister Sanderson.
“This is a practical tool that will connect workers with real opportunities, while supporting businesses to find the skilled people they need.
“I encourage local employers to get involved, promote their vacancies and connect with the skilled workforce right here in Collie.”
Local employers will benefit from a free and easy-to-use system to advertise vacancies, access a local talent pool and promote roles through digital tools such as QR-coded job posters.
The platform includes features such as skills matching, candidate shortlisting tools and the ability to prioritise workers transitioning to new employment.
“This is a great initiative that connects local workers with real job opportunities in Collie, helping our community remain strong as industries evolve,” said South West Minister, Don Punch.
“By improving access to jobs, training and career pathways, we’re supporting workers to transition and build new futures close to home.
“It’s a practical way to link local businesses with skilled local people, strengthening our workforce and benefiting the entire community.”
The app complements the work of the Transition consultants based at the South Regional TAFE Collie campus and career advisors based at the Collie Jobs and Skills Centre.
