Applications open for WA Training Awards

Applications are now open for the Western Australian Training Awards, giving apprentices, trainees, students, employers, and training organisations the chance to be recognised as the best in their field.

WA achieved national success at the 2025 Australian Training Awards, with Arabella Poole (pictured) named Australian Vocational Student of the Year and Taylorweir Hairdresser and Barber Training named Australia’s Small Training Provider of the Year.

The WA Training Awards are delivered by the Department of Training and Workforce Development and supported by major partners including the State Training Board, Training Accreditation Council, Jobs and Skills WA, returning principal sponsor MEGT, Apprenticeship Support Australia, Construction Training Fund, and ECA WA.

“We want everyone to have a quality job, and for many that starts with quality training at TAFE. Every year, we see remarkable stories of dedication, resilience, and innovation,” said Skills and TAFE Minister, Amber-Jade Sanderson.

“I encourage Western Australians to nominate and help us recognise those who embody the ‘You can make it here’ message – because great careers and great futures are being built right here in WA.”

Applications close on 10 April 2026. Apply at wa.gov.au/watrainingawards.
