Applications are now open for the WA Government’s 2027 Digital Public Sector Graduate Program.
Led by the Office of Digital Government, the whole-of-government graduate program is designed to attract high-performing science, technology, engineering and mathematics graduates and provides a valuable opportunity to build a meaningful career in the WA public sector.
Since 2024, the program has supported 58 graduates across 17 government agencies, building digital capability across government while delivering valuable career opportunities for emerging professionals.
“Western Australia’s future growth relies on a skilled workforce that can embrace new technologies and drive innovation,” said Science and Innovation Minister, Stephen Dawson.
“The Digital Public Sector Graduate Program demonstrates the Cook Labor Government’s commitment to supporting quality jobs, growing digital skills and delivering on the WA Digital Strategy.
“This unique program is providing talented graduates with rewarding career opportunities while helping government build the digital capability needed to deliver better outcomes for the community.”
The program contributes to the recently launched Digital Strategy for the WA Government objective of strengthening digital capability across the public sector by developing emerging ICT professionals in Cyber Security, Data Science, ICT Operations and Geospatial Information Systems. This capability helps agencies modernise services, improve security and deliver better outcomes for Western Australians.
Through structured rotations across multiple agencies, graduates will gain hands-on experience in their chosen stream while working on real projects. This allows them to build practical skills, broaden their experience and contribute to the digital capability and transformation of the Western Australian public sector.
Applications close 10 September 2026. For more information, visit the Digital Public Sector Graduate Program website or email digitalgradprogram@dpc.wa.gov.au.
