AgriFutures honour for WA pastoralist

Kimberley innovator and pastoralist Isabella Thrupp has been recognised as runner-up in the 2025 AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award at a gala event in Canberra Tuesday night.

Ms Thrupp founded the online business, Prinking In Pindan, which creates stylish and durable clothing suitable for the lifestyle of rural women. She also managesĀ Leopold Downs Station, a pastoral station in the Kimberley, with her partner.

“I commend Isabella on this tremendous achievement, which recognises her innovation and outstanding contribution to rural industries and communities,” said Regional Development and Kimberley Minister, Stephen Dawson.

“Congratulations to all of the women who have been honoured through these awards and for their passion in driving positive outcomes for their regional and rural communities.”

Ms Thrupp represented Western Australia at the prestigious national award, which celebrates the essential role women play in rural industries, businesses and communities.

Her business began out of the need for jeans that could withstand the harsh conditions of outback Australia.

“Isabella is a great advocate for innovation and sustainability, her community, and women in regional and rural WA,” said Agriculture and Food Minister, Jackie Jarvis.

“These awards celebrate the leadership of women in Australia’s rural and emerging industries and being a national finalist has provided Isabella with a pathway to build strong connections across Australia and gain significant exposure for her work.”

As the national runner-up, Ms Thrupp receives a $15,000 Westpac grant to further support her project, which is exploring Australian-made clothing research and development, particularly cotton and wool fabric blends, and undertake professional development.

Women living, working and making a difference across regional and rural Western Australia are encouraged to nominate now for the 2026 AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award, with applications closing on 7 November 2025.
