ACT public service chief, Kathy Leigh, has announced her retirement, 12 years after becoming the first woman to take up the Head of Service role.
Ms Leigh (pictured) was appointed to the ACT public service’s most senior position back in 2014, leading the Territory’s 22,000-strong public service workforce for an initial term of five years.
Prior to taking on the top job, she was the Director-General of the Justice and Community Safety Directorate.
Her public sector career began in 1983, when she joined the Australian public service as a legal officer.
