ACT Fire & Rescue is recruiting for new firefighters to join the service after securing ACT Government funding for 35 new staff.
ACT Fire & Rescue Chief Officer, Peter Cleary said firefighting is one of the most rewarding careers a person can choose.
“It challenges you, pushes you, and it gives you the opportunity to make a real difference when it matters most,” said Chief Officer Cleary.
“Some of our best firefighters have come from completely different career paths. We are seeking people from a broad range of backgrounds and experiences who can bring valuable skills and perspectives, helping us better reflect the community.”
He said a career as a firefighter in the ACT offers a rewarding and dynamic career, providing people with the opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of others.

“This recruitment forms part of our $93.4 million investment in emergency services. With construction now complete on the new Molonglo Emergency Services Station, we are delivering the infrastructure and planning for more first responders in our fast growing capital.”
