The Queensland Government has pledged more than $74 million for new or replacement fire stations and land acquisition, and more than $50 million for new or replacement vehicles in 2025-26.

The funding boost will see new and replacement Queensland Fire and Rescue stations delivered in Beerwah, Greater Springfield, Gympie South, Caloundra and Boonah, as well as new Rural Fire Service Queensland stations at Abbot Point, Bell Town, and Mount Ossa.

Queensland Fire and Rescue and Rural Fire Service Queensland firefighters will also be equipped with new trucks to enhance operational capability and response.

The funding will deliver:

  • More than $37 million for new and upgraded Fire and Rescue stations across Queensland;
  • $25.7 million for new and replacement urban fire appliances;
  • $23.7 million for new and upgraded Rural Fire Service trucks and $13million for RFS stations;
  • 123 appliances for Queensland Fire and Rescue and Rural Fire Service Queensland vehicles.

Minister for Fire, Disaster Recovery and Volunteers, Ann Leahy said the Government’s commitments were a clear demonstration of support for the hard-working men and women who protected Queensland communities every day.

“The Crisafulli Government is committed to restoring essential services and repairing the damage left by Labor’s decade of mismanagement,” Minister Leahy said.

“Under Labor, Queensland’s fires were being forced to work in outdated stations with ageing equipment, but the Crisafulli Government will always put our hardworking firefighters and their communities first.”
