The winners of the 2026 Western Australian State of Energy Export Awards have been announced, with Edith Cowan University taking home the top prize as the WA State of Energy Exporter of the Year in recognition of its success in attracting international students and supporting jobs across WA’s education sector.
The celebration also marked the official launch of the State’s new global campaign, State of Energy, which aims to attract investment, expand trade opportunities and support job creation in WA.
“Congratulations to Edith Cowan University on being named the 2026 Western Australian State of Energy Exporter of the Year, and to all the category winners whose success is supporting jobs and economic opportunities across our State,” said Premier and Tourism, Trade and Investment Minister, Roger Cook.
“Every export contract secured, every new market opened and every international partnership built by WA businesses helps create and sustain local jobs, strengthen industries and deliver opportunities for workers in communities throughout our State.”
The Western Australian State of Energy Export Awards recognise the local businesses which are succeeding in international markets and creating employment opportunities for Western Australians.
Since 1988, the awards have celebrated exporters that grow the economy, create local jobs, support skilled careers and showcase the State’s strengths on the world stage.
This year, 46 companies applied, with 45% entering the program for the first time.
Winners were recognised across 13 categories, ranging from manufacturing to healthcare, with each industry supporting thousands of jobs and demonstrating the breadth of opportunities being created across WA’s export economy.
Each category winner will progress to the Australian Export Awards, providing an opportunity to showcase Western Australia’s world-class industries, promote local expertise and support future jobs growth by expanding access to national and international markets.
“These awards highlight the people behind our export success and showcase how local businesses are creating skilled jobs, building local capability and taking our world-class products, services and expertise to global markets,” said Mr Cook.
“I wish all our winners the very best as they represent Western Australia at the Australian Export Awards later this year and continue creating jobs, driving investment and growing our economy for the benefit of all Western Australians.”
