2025 NSW Schools Roadshow wraps up

The NSW Department of Education’s 2025 Schools Roadshow has come to an end after visiting 10 public schools across the state in the past two months.

The roadshow marked its final stop last Thursday, having brought together more than 1,000 public school principals and leaders at 10 locations across the state.

NSW Department of Education Secretary, Murat Dizdar and senior department executives joined school leaders from western Sydney and the Blue Mountains at Kingswood High for the conclusion of the 10-school roadshow tour.

The tour started at Figtree High in the Illawarra on 13 May and included visits to schools in Batemans Bay, Tweed Heads, Newcastle, Orange, Inverell and Albury.

Mr Dizdar said the roadshow had given educators the opportunity to discuss the priorities that matter most for improving student outcomes, from explicit teaching, staffing and infrastructure to evidence-based student wellbeing and curriculum delivery.

“(The roadshow) was a chance to listen, to learn and to lead together,” he said.

“We want to ensure every student, no matter where they live, has access to a world class education – and that requires maintaining understanding of the realities on the ground.”

Relieving Director, Educational Leadership, for the Blue Mountains Network, Kate Ford said the Kingswood High roadshow visit had been a great opportunity to connect with senior department staff and other school leaders.

“It was an opportunity to reflect on and celebrate all the great things public education has achieved over the past year, while also looking at future directions,” she said.

“The Q and A session was extremely productive and gave principals the forum to ask questions and seek clarification on topics from key senior executive staff.

“Principals were also able to share thoughts and ideas and give detailed feedback back to the system.”
