14 new paramedics boost NSW health frontline

NSW Ambulance has inducted 14 new paramedics from interstate and overseas, providing a welcome boost to frontline health services across the state.

The qualified and experienced paramedics have just completed a comprehensive three-week induction program at the NSW Ambulance Education Centre and now begin their nine week on-road training.

“Our new recruits have served in a variety of emergency health services, and the knowledge they bring will strengthen our clinical practice and enhance the care we provide to communities across NSW,” said NSW Ambulance Chief Executive, Dr Dominic Morgan.

“These additional paramedics will help us continue to meet the growing demand for emergency medical services. Their arrival supports our commitment to delivering safe, timely, and world-class care.

“Every new paramedic joining NSW Ambulance undergoes comprehensive local training and orientation to ensure they meet our high clinical and operational standards. We’re confident these professionals will adapt quickly and continue to deliver the exceptional level of care expected by the people of NSW.”

“Moving back to NSW will give me excellent career progression and facilitate me becoming an extended care paramedic in the future,” she said.

“I am a new mum so moving closer to family support is an added bonus.”

The latest class of paramedic inductees will be posted across metropolitan and regional locations in NSW for nine weeks, prior to commencing independent practice with NSW Ambulance.

“I am delighted to welcome a new wave of highly skilled paramedics from across the globe to NSW Ambulance,” said Health Minister, Ryan Park.

“These paramedics bring a wealth of experience from diverse emergency health services – these invaluable skillswill enhance the quality of pre-hospital care right here in NSW.

“The addition of thesetrained paramedics is part of the government’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the health workforce of frontline emergency care.”
